At GEMS Al Barsha National School, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. The launch of our Desert School experience brings outdoor, experiential learning to life, connecting students with the UAE’s unique natural environment.
Inspired by the beautiful landscapes of the UAE desert, students engage in purposeful activities that nurture teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for nature. From building shelters to learning about desert ecosystems and local culture, our learners are encouraged to explore, inquire, and grow in ways that traditional classrooms cannot always offer.
This initiative is part of our holistic education approach, developing well-rounded students who are connected to their environment, heritage, and community. The Desert School complements our academic programmes by encouraging emotional, physical, and social growth.
